I was ready, waiting for the moment the rain would stop so I could go outside and take pictures. I've always loved what the rain does to the earth, quenching it's thirst, giving nature an array of rich tones that only show when damp.
I went for the fallen leaves first. I crouched down close, snapping pictures of water droplets that sat on a leafy-green bed, fresh and un-disturbed. So many leaves surrounded me on the wet grass. As the breeze blew, some of the leaves went with it, including the one I had just taken a picture of. I couldn't help but marvel in the wet land on which I stood as I took in a deep breath of the cool air. With each fallen leaf that surrounded me, one was different from the next, unique & un-matchable.
A God moment consumed my heart, thinking about how amazingly "One of Kind" all of His creation is. How you can find things in nature "alike" but not a perfect match. I held onto that thought as I continued through the dew covered yard taking pictures of things that caught my eye. I relished in the quiet minutes that followed, listening to the birds chirping, singing songs to one another.
I am captivated by God on a daily basis and it's moments like these that I reflect on my favorite Bible verse.
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love and He will rejoice over you with singing." Zeph. 3:17
